Black Hills Energy breaks ground on operations center
Black Hills Energy team members serving Siloam Springs area natural gas customers will soon be relocating from their location in a leased building at 883 South Dogwood Street, to a new building at 2550 N. Country Club Road.
The building will store equipment and serve as a warehouse for area team members who provide safe, reliable service to the utility’s more than 9,500 natural gas customers in Siloam Springs and the communities of Gentry, Decatur, Gravette, Sulphur Springs, Hiwasse, Highfill and Springtown.
“We’re committed to northwest Arkansas and we’ve demonstrated that through our continued infrastructure investments across the region,” said Chad Kinsley, director of natural gas operations for Black Hills Energy. “Owning a building allows us to better control costs and demonstrates our commitment to efficiently serving the needs of our customers in the Siloam Springs area and across northwest Arkansas.”
Black Hills Energy employees, construction contractor Benchmark Construction, representatives from the Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce, and members of the community gathered for a groundbreaking ceremony on June 5. Construction on the new 10,000-squarefoot operations center will begin in June and is expected to be complete early in 2020.
