Tornado siren testing

The city of Siloam Springs will change the testing day for the outdoor warning system to 1 p.m. on the first Monday of the month. In the past, testing took place on Friday. First Monday testing will give city staff time to make repairs immediately if needed. Should cloudy weather, rain or other inclement weather occur on a test day, testing will be delayed one day until completed.

Bookstore at the Library

The Bookstore at the Library is now featuring a large and varied selection of Christmas books and CDs. Everyone is welcome to shop at the store for gifts. Most items are priced under $2. The store now needs donations of gently used children’s books — bring donations any time during library hours. The bookstore is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Friends of the Library use all proceeds from the store to benefit the library, especially the children’s summer reading programs. Donations of used books and electronic media in good condition are welcome.

Street closure

Siloam Springs Street Department will close Lake Francis Drive from the railroad tracks east to Lincoln Street through the end of the year. It is a complete road rebuild; the street will not be open to traffic.
