Shirley ‘Sissy’ Hilderbrand Glass

Shirley “Sissy” Hilderbrand Glass, 67, of Flint Ridge, Oklahoma, passed away Monday night, January 13, 2020, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, surrounded by her loved ones.

Sissy was born November 13, 1952, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Sam and Mary Bird-Hilderbrand. On August 1, 1989, she married Johnny Glass and they shared a loving 25 years together until his passing on January 25, 2015. She loved her family and everyone was family. Her favorite saying was, “They’re your cousin,” whether we were actually related or not. Her grandbabies meant the world to her. She was the best “Crazy Grandma” ever. She loved to spoil them by either feeding them all the junk food they wanted or slipping them money for “whatever they want.” She was fiercely protective of her loved ones. She was little, but she was mighty. She will be missed, but never forgotten.

She is survived by her three girls, Samantha Peters of the home, Sherrie Johnson and husband Bart of Decatur, Arkansas, and Johnna Glass and fiancé Ray Draleaus of Gentry, Arkansas; two sisters, P.J. Moore and husband Dave of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Vanessa Hilderbrand of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; four brothers, Vinnus Hilderbrand and wife Marilee of West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma, Sam “Bajel” Hilderbrand and wife, Shelley of Chewey, Oklahoma, Bill Hilderbrand and wife Tammy of Chewey, Oklahoma, and Timmy Hilderbrand and wife Sheila of Chewey, Oklahoma; three grandbabies, Garon, Bennet and Emma Johnson, all of Decatur, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews; three dogs, Buttercup, Sprocket, and Nikki; and many other loved ones.

Mom loved family dinners, so we will host a celebration of life at noon on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at her home in Flint Ridge, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you call/text a friend or relative you haven’t reached out to recently, in honor of mom since she enjoyed talking on the phone.

The cremation arrangements were entrusted to Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs. To sign the online guestbook, please visit, www. backstrom-pyeatte.com.
