Loretta Ilene Millsap

Loretta Ilene Millsap, 84, of Gentry, Arkansas, died November 7, 2020, at Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Loretta was born April 20, 1936, in Springdale, Arkansas, to Frank Parsley and Corene Fields Parsley. She married Walter David Millsap on December 17, 1955. Loretta graduated college with a master’s degree and she worked as a school librarian for 31 years and as a teacher. She also was a Sunday school teacher, an avid Pioneer fan, and part of the Gideon International organization. Loretta hosted foreign exchange students, was a very selfless person always putting God first, family second, others then herself, but she was known throughout Gentry for her homemade cinnamon rolls.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter David; brother, Edwin Lanier Parsley; son, Donnie Millsap; grandson, Joseph Edward Denny; and granddaughter, Bridgette Kay Millsap.

Survivors include her sister, Kay Stiles and husband Bill of Wheeler, Texas; son, Walter ( Wally) Millsap and wife Kay of Gentry, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Sandy Millsap of Gentry, Arkansas and son Edward Millsap and wife Fern of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; daughters, Martha Hawkins of Gentry, Arkansas and Kathy Hummingbird and husband Damon of Gentry, Arkansas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Gentry First Baptist Church, Gentry, Arkansas. Visitation was 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Gentry First Baptist Church. For the visitation and funeral service, guests were required to wear their own face mask and social distance per the guidelines set forth by the State of Arkansas.
