Girls soccer

The Siloam Springs girls soccer team opened the 2021 season with a 4-0 win against Harrison on Monday at Panther Stadium. Bri Anderson scored three goals and one assist for the Lady Panthers (1-0), while Jetta Broquard had one goal.

Regan Riley and Jordan Christophe­r added assists for the Lady Panthers.

Siloam Springs was scheduled to play at Conway on Tuesday night. Results were not available at presstime.

The Lady Panthers are back in action Thursday at home against Bentonvill­e before opening conference play at Vilonia on Friday.

Boys soccer

The Panthers blanked the Goblins 5-0 in the boys game. Ronny Ramirez scored in the 27th minute off an assist from Cristian Lopez for the game’s first goal and Ivan Sandoval scored unassisted in the 32nd minute for a 2-0 lead. Ramirez hit Franklin Cortez for a goal in the 43rd minute, while Jason Flores scored off a Dylan Garcia assist in the 60th minute. Cortez assisted on Sandoval’s second goal in the 67th minute. The Panthers possessed the ball for 71.5 percent of the game and had 42 shots, including 17 on target.

Siloam Springs was scheduled to host Prairie Grove on Tuesday night. Results were not available at presstime. The Panthers are scheduled to open conference play at Vilonia on Friday.

Baseball

The Siloam Springs baseball team opened its season with a 13-1 win at Gravette on Monday night.

The Panthers scored four runs in the first, four more in the second and five in the third for the mercy-rule win in five innings. Elijah Coffey had two hits and scored three runs for Siloam Springs, while Jacob Gilbert had two hits, two RBIs and scored two runs. JP Wills had a hit, a run and two RBIs. Gavin Henson had a hit and two runs scored. Christian Ledeker scored a run and drove in a run, while Andrew Pilcher had a hit and RBI. Brayden Fain drove in two runs, while Nick Driscoll had two hits. Ryder Winfrey scored two runs, while Nathan Lee and Lucas Junkermann each scored a run. Jacob Gilbert (1-0) pitched all five innings for Siloam Springs and got the victory with nine strikeouts.

The Panthers are scheduled to return to action Wednesday at Springdale Har-Ber and then play at Farmington on Thursday before hosting Gentry on Friday.

Softball

Siloam Springs led 5-0 going into the top of the fifth inning when a Huntsville grand slam spurred a Lady Eagles rally, resulting eventually in a 9-8 loss for the Lady Panthers. Siloam Springs led 6-5 with two outs in the top of the seventh inning, but Huntsville scored four runs to take a 9-6 lead. Siloam Springs scored two in the bottom of the seventh to fall one run short.

Maggie Torres had three hits, scored two runs and had an RBI to lead Siloam Springs, while Micah Curry scored three runs. Morgan Teafatille­r had a hit and two RBIs, while Morgan Williamson scored a run and drove in a run.

Hilarie Buffington, Williamson, Curry also had base hits. Kennedy Wilkie was the losing pitcher, going the distance for the Lady Panthers.

Siloam Springs was scheduled to host Springdale Har-Ber on Tuesday. Results were not available at presstime.
