Writers learn writing skills

The Siloam Springs Writers Guild will meet at First Baptist Church, 2000 Dawn Hill Rd., on Monday, April 12, at 5:30 p.m. Please use the west parking lot and entrance. The program will consist of Part I, Improving Our Writing. April assignment­s are: Prose — “Lessons from Our Heritage,” up to 750 words. Poetry — an Epic poem condensed to 32 lines. Celebrate Recovery

Siloam Springs Hospital Auxiliary scholarshi­ps

Siloam Springs Hospital Auxiliary is offering scholarshi­ps to adults who are studying for the medical field. The applicants must have already completed their first year of medical studies and be currently enrolled as a full time student, 12 hours or more per semester. Applicatio­n forms and more informatio­n is available by contacting Donna Conger, Auxiliary President, at 479373-6428. Forms must be completed and returned to Donna Conger by April 1, 2021.

Master Naturalist­s accepting applicatio­ns

The Northwest Arkansas chapter of Arkansas Master Naturalist­s is accepting applicatio­ns for upcoming training. Training for 2021 will occur via Zoom, with approximat­ely 50 hours of virtual lectures and interprete­d hike videos. Trainees have a choice of attending either Saturday morning or Wednesday evening classes, each lasting three to four hours. Some small group, socially distanced field time is also planned. American Legion Bingo

American Legion Post 29 will have Bingo at the Legion Community Hall (Community Building) on Monday evenings. Doors open at 5 p.m. and Early Bird games start at 5:30 p.m., followed by regular games. Everyone 18 and older is invited to join in the fun. Concession items will be for sale.

Meals on Wheels volunteers needed

Meals on Wheels Volunteers needed to ride along in food truck to assist in delivering meals to shut-ins in Gentry. Any day but Tuesday is needed from 10:30 a.m. to noon. For more informatio­n, please call the Siloam Springs Senior Center at 479-524-5735.

Siloam Springs Senior Center

The Siloam Springs Senior Center is still closed to the public until further notice to help control the spread of covid-19. However, the center offers one hot meal each day for seniors 60 years and older via curbside pickup, at 750 Heritage Court. Please place orders the day before by calling 479-524-5735. Menus are available for pickup at our center.

Curbside pickup is between 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. everyday. Please remember to make the suggested $3 donation for each meal. The menu is subject to change daily.
