The Boys & Girls Club of Western Benton County will be offering a snack to children during its summer program at the Siloam Springs unit, located at 655 Heritage Court.

Children do not have to be enrolled in the summer program to participat­e in the snack program.

The club will be open for two sessions — June 6 to July 1 and July 11 to Aug. 5. The club will be closed from July 4-8.

Republican Women

On Monday, May 16, the Siloam Springs Republican Women will welcome two candidates for public office — both from Little Rock. Jake Bequette, former Arkansas Razorback and NFL player, is running for U.S. Senate. Leon Jones, Jr., an attorney, is running for Arkansas Attorney General. Refreshmen­ts are served at 6:30 p.m. followed by speakers and a Q&A session. The meeting will be held at Compass Fellowship Church (Quonset Hut) at 2307 US Hwy. 412 & State Line Road. Students,

Crystal Bridges 2 You

Crystal Bridges will be hosting an art event at the Siloam Springs Public Library from 3-6 p.m. Monday, May 9. Participan­ts will get to create art and share stories. For more informatio­n call the library at 5244236. Event tickets for Crystal Bridges will be given out to patrons at the front desk. A couple of events at Crystal Bridges this summer and fall include “The Dirty

South: Contempora­ry Art, Material Culture, and the Sonic Impulse, “Fashioning America: Grit to Glamour,” and “Architectu­re at Home.”

Writers Guild

The Siloam Springs Writers Guild will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 9, at First Baptist Church, 2000 Dawn Hill Road. Please enter through the west parking lot. Author and publisher, Gene Linzey, will speak on “Better Writing, be it Blogs, Biographie­s, or Books.” Visitors are welcome to hear his presentati­on. Writing assignment­s are to be emailed to sswgsisp@gmail.com by May 1. Topics are: Prose — “What My Mother Taught Me,” up to 750 words, and Poetry — “A Childhood Memory,” any style up to 36 lines.

Manna Center

The Manna Center operates a thrift store that is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Proceeds from sales of donated items help fund the pantry. Clients are able to shop on vouchers at no cost.
