Boys & Girls Club snack program
The Boys & Girls Club of Western Benton County will be offering a snack to children during its summer program at the Siloam Springs unit, located at 655 Heritage Court.
Children do not have to be enrolled in the summer program to participate in the snack program.
The club will be open for two sessions — June 6 to July 1 and July 11 to Aug. 5. The club will be closed from July 4-8.

Republican Women to hear candidates
On Monday, May 16 the Siloam Springs Republican Women will welcome two candidates for public office — both from Little Rock. Jake Bequette, former Arkansas Razorback and NFL player, is running for U.S. Senate. Leon Jones, Jr., an attorney, is running for Arkansas Attorney General. Refreshments are served at 6:30 p.m. followed by speakers and a Q&A session. The meeting will be held at

Crystal Bridges 2 You
Crystal Bridges will be hosting an art event at the Siloam Springs Public Library from 3-6 p.m. Monday, May 9. Participants will get to create art and share stories. For more information call the library at 524-4236. Event tickets for Crystal Bridges will be given out to patrons at the front desk. A couple of events at Crystal Bridges this summer and fall include “The Dirty South: Contemporary Art, Material Culture, and the Sonic Impulse, “Fashioning America: Grit to Glamour,” and “Architecture at Home.”
Writers Guild to hear writing techniques
The Siloam Springs Writers Guild will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 9, at First Baptist Church, 2000 Dawn Hill Road. Please enter through the west parking lot. Author and publisher, Gene Linzey, will speak on “Better Writing, be it Blogs, Biographies,
or Books.” Visitors are welcome to hear his presentation. Writing assignments are to be emailed to sswgsisp@gmail.com by May 1. Topics are: Prose - “What My Mother Taught Me,” up to 750 words, and Poetry - “A Childhood Memory,” any style up to 36 lines.
Manna Center
The Manna Center operates a thrift store that is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Proceeds from sales of donated items help fund the pantry. Clients are able to shop on vouchers at no cost. Donations of household items, small appliances and gently used clothing are accepted during business hours.
The emergency food pantry is open from 9 a.m to 11:30 a.m Currently mobile outreach programs include small communities around Northwest Arkansas and Northeast Oklahoma in addition to the main campus at 670. Heritage Court Siloam Springs.
Volunteers are always welcome in both the pantry and thrift store. To volunteer or for more information contact Marla or Laura at 479-524-9825.
