Y&R: NICK PROTECTS VICTORIA FROM ASHLAND

■ Although Ashland is still in Genoa City, Victoria doesn’t seem concerned about his presence. Nick, however, believes his sister’s ex could cause trouble. “On the surface, it seems like Victoria doesn’t seem to think there’s a threat, which really bugs and concerns Nick,” says Joshua Morrow (Nick). “From day one, Nick never trusted this guy, even before all of his lies came out. To Nick’s dismay, Victoria doesn’t give Ashland a second thought, as far as what he’s capable of. Yes, she’s a grown woman and Nick understand­s that she has to make her own choices, but he’s not going to let this go. Bottom line, Nick wants this dude gone for good.”

Meanwhile, Victoria is alone at home when she spots Ashland staring at her through the French doors. Furious, she threatens to call the police. Ashland insists that he’s no threat to her but Victoria is shaken when he adds that he has nothing to lose.

Back at the coffeehous­e, Nick runs into Billy, who asks if Victoria is okay. “Billy’s extremely concerned,” Morrow notes. “Nick knows that Billy is a good dad and that he’s never going to completely distance himself from Victoria, so Nick understand­s that Billy’s intentions and motives come from a good place. like it when Billy gets a little too nosy and pushy within the Newman family dynamic. Nick tolerates Billy, to a degree, because he knows Billy’s true feelings are always about the well-being of Victoria and his kids.”

This time, Nick advises Billy to butt out. “Nick doesn’t need Billy on the front lines in this situation,” points out Morrow. “Nick looks at this as a family issue that he and his dad will handle. Nick doesn’t need anybody else jumping in.”

Nick decides to check on Victoria and stops by her house. “Nick knocks on the door and there’s no answer, so he looks in the window and sees that the lights are on,” Morrow previews. “He assumes Victoria is home and his initial thought is maybe she’s fallen asleep, so he decides to leave. But something is nagging at him, so he changes his mind and walks back, but this time, he slips in through the back door .... ”
