B&B: FINN LEARNS LI IS GONE
■ A recovering Finn desperately aims to escape from under Sheila’s watchful eye, so he tries to appeal to Mike for help.
“Finn is a smart guy and he’s not typically manipulative, but in this case, he needs to be,” says Tanner Novlan (Finn). “He sees Mike as a vulnerable person and he’s just getting in deeper and deeper with Sheila. Mike knows this doesn’t make a lot of sense in a longterm situation. Is Sheila going to keep him there for years and years and years? That doesn’t work, so I think he sees Mike as a potential ally, and trying to recruit him in that way helps him to see that maybe he can get through to Sheila, because ultimately, she holds the key.”
After trying to get through to Mike, Finn presses Sheila for answers about Li. “Finn knows there is no way Sheila could have revived him by herself,” notes Novlan. “He’s a doctor. She’s a nurse. He realizes it would have taken a very trained professional to know how to properly bring Finn back and he wants to learn who helped her. He also wants to know what may have happened to his family. That’s what he is wondering, and is Sheila lying to him? He doesn’t feel he can believe her. I think there is a lot of fear about where his family has been during this time.”
Eventually, Sheila breaks down and admits that Li perished in a fiery car crash. “He is devastated,” sighs the actor. “Li is the only mother he ever knew. He went into the medical profession because of her. He doesn’t know where Steffy is. He doesn’t know where his family is, and now he learns his mother met her demise. He just knows he needs to get out of this room and see his family. His main concern is Steffy, of course. He definitely has a more complicated relationship with his father now, but Finn is very much in the dark regarding his loved ones, and his fears for the worst couldn’t be higher.”
