Logitech Kills Harmony Link
Logitech’s Harmony Link, the hub that runs systems and devices from smartphones, will be permanently disabled via software update on March 16, 2018. The company is killing it ostensibly because the cloud service that powers it will be going offline as its security certification expires. Another (and more likely) reason cited was “small user base.” Products within warranty (originally one year, later reduced to three months) will be exchanged for an upgraded Harmony Hub at no cost. If your product is out of warranty, you get a one-time discount of 35 percent off the $100 replacement cost.—MF
