Pursuit S 368 Sport

-

With the introduction of the S 368 Sport, Pursuit is placing another bet on the everexpanding, 30- foot- and- over center console market. The S 368 Sport joins two other relatively fresh 30-plus-footers — the S 328 Sport and S 408 Sport — in the Florida builder’s lineup.

Lots of seating, enclosed cabins and other comfort- oriented features are expected on high-end center consoles, and the S 368 has them. At the bow, a U-shaped lounge con- verts to a dining space with a drop-in teak table. Just abaft it ( forward of the console unit) is a chaise lounge for two.

The cockpit has flip-out transom seating and an aft-facing lounge with a teak table abaft the helm chairs. A clever, slide-out electric grill is under the helm seating. Hidden beneath the console is a cabin with a microwave, a two-person berth that converts to a sofa, rod stowage and an enclosed head.

Owners who are inclined to wet a line will find twin 45-gallon insulated fish-boxes, a transom-mounted live well, transom-mounted tackle drawers, under- gunwale rod stowage and hardtop rocket launcher rod stowage, as well as room for multifunction displays at the helm. Mounting plates and wiring are built- in for port and starboard downriggers.

Pursuit powers the S 368 Sport with a trio of Yamaha F300 4-stroke outboards. Jostling the throttles all the way open results in a 0-to-17-knot time of only 4.94 seconds. Keep the throttles mashed down, and the Pursuit will gallop to a top end of 43 knots. Anglers headed to the canyons or other offshore destinations can cruise around 22 knots with fuel economy of 26.2 gph. ( That’s about 0.98 mpg.) Triple 350-hp Yamaha F350s are available as an option.
