A 5,790-square-foot Miami Beach condominium that belonged to the late fashion designer Max Azria has been listed for $5.9 million.

The four-bedroom, 4 1⁄2- bath residence, at 5363 Fisher Island Drive, is on tony Fisher Island, off the tip of Miami Beach.

Fisher Island, which is accessible only by ferry, private boat or helicopter, is home to the richest ZIP code in the United States (33109) based on average adjusted gross income — $2.2 million, according to a Bloomberg analysis.

Max Azria founded fashion house BCBG Max Azria in 1989. At its peak, the firm operated more than 550 stores around the world. Azria died in May 2019 at age 70. He and his wife, Lubov Azria, also a designer, bought the unit in November 2005 for $3.4 million.

The condominium, which was built in 1991, features a large open kitchen with Viking, Sub-Zero and Bosch appliances, a dining area with fireplace, living room with fireplace and wet bar, a media room and a master suite with fireplace, glass marble shower and sunken spa tub.

Additional features include two large terraces and a movie theater. The unit offers views of the Miami skyline, Biscayne Bay and Government Cut.

“The first rule of real estate is location, location, location, and this property offers views of the

open bay and downtown Miami,” said Jill Eber, a broker-associate with The Jills Zeder Group at Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate in Miami Beach, which holds the listing.

“Every day, there’s a different sunset, and it’s like a painting.”

Fisher Island, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2019, is a 216-acre private community. The private membership Fisher Island Club boasts a beach club, luxury hotel, championship golf course, 17 tennis courts, two deep-water marinas, multiple dining venues, a full-service spa, salon, fitness center, theater and aviary.

The island also is home to the Fisher Island Day School.

“Most of the island is second, third or fourth homes for people,” Eber said. “However, there are a lot of young families moving to Fisher Island because of the phenomenal private school, and with the new tax laws, it’s a big incentive for people to come and make Fisher Island their primary residence.”
