Broward Library’s Literary Feast moves to September
As we work our way through the next few weeks of staying home, many of us are reading more books. And maybe it’s time to plan future events. The Broward Public Library Foundation’s annual Literary Feast, which brings in an array of best-selling authors of all genres for panels and private dinners, has been postponed to Sept. 11-12.
The lineup of authors is still being finalized; details will be updated at bplfoundation.org/contact-us. The Literary Feast was to have taken place in April,
The Author Day for Students, when participating writers talk about their work and the writing process at various Broward high schools, will be Sept. 11. The free LitLIVE! author panel discussions are scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 11 at three Barnes & Noble bookstores (2051 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale; 591 S. University Drive, Plantation; and 11820 Pines Blvd., Pembroke Pines). A percentage of all purchases that evening will benefit the foundation
The Night of Literary Feasts welcome reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach Commodore Ballroom, 801 Seabreeze Blvd. The reception includes an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, book sales and signings with all 14 authors, and a silent auction. At 7:30 p.m., guests depart for dinners featuring an author at private homes or upscale restaurants.
For tickets or additional information, visit bplfoundation.org/literary -feast-ticket-purchase -2020 or call 954-357-7382. LitLIVE! is free, but reservations are required. The Literary Feast was established in 1988 to raise funds to support Broward County Library literacy programs and services. Since then, the event has raised more than $4 million.
