Single mother of 3 gets a new car

The Geneva Group, a real estate investment and property services firm, recently donated a new car to a single mother of three who was in growing need of transportation.

Through help from the SOS Children’s Village Florida, the Deerfield Beach-based business connected with the mother and her family, providing them the means to travel to and from work and school.

The mother and her three children were presented with the car on Dec. 18 by The Geneva Group and managing partner Jarred Elmar.

“What my goal has been is to really get the word out to get younger companies like us that are doing surprisingly OK during this pandemic to understand that there’s a huge part of the population that are not, and this is the time to be blessed and pull money out of pocket to give to some of these organizations,” Elmar said. “We reached out to SOS [Children’s] Village and we told them what we wanted to do.

“They said we have the perfect family,” he said. “They gave us the backstory on this family and we said this is perfect. So, we hand-selected that person.”

The Geneva Group is also donating a vehicle to a woman who is coming out of the Israeli Army so she can attend college locally.

Elmar and his staff plan to surprise her with the donation, hoping to welcome her back to the U.S. with a new set of wheels.

“We contacted Jewish Federation who brought us to Jewish Adoption and Family Care Options (JAFCO),” Elmar said. “They have a JAFCO Village where a girl was raised with no parents. The Federation basically raised this girl.

“When she turned 17 she went to go serve in the Israeli Army,” Elmar said. “Now, she’s coming back to work with kids that are now in the JAFCO Village like she was to kind of pay it forward. She has no idea. So, this will be a big surprise for her.”
