Glenn Close to headline virtual Reflections of Hope Luncheon

-

Seven-time Academy Award-nominated actress Glenn Close will be the keynote speaker for the Boca-Raton based Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services’ annual Reflections of Hope Luncheon. The event takes place virtually this year at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 11. Proceeds will benefit Rales JFS’ counseling and mental health services, including the Welcome Home Program.

“JFS is one of the only nonprofits in our community that offers services on a sliding scale, making counseling affordable regardless of ability to pay,” said Danielle Hartman, the agency’s president and chief executive officer. “The funds raised at our luncheon support those who need this financial assistance in order to get help.”

During the event, Close — a mental health advocate — will weave together stories about her life in film, including anecdotes behind some of her roles. She will also reflect on how continually reinventing herself made for a lasting career.

The luncheon will also include a performance by singer and songwriter Nikki Lickstein, a rising country music star and a South Florida native who has dealt with mental illness from a young age. Lickstein, 20, will share her story, including the affect the COVID-19 pandemic has had on her mental health.

Visit ralesjfs.org/ROH to RSVP for the event, or contact Jill Waldman, the agency’s director of special events, at 561-852-5013 or jillw@ralesjfs.org.
