Oceanfront mansion is a child’s paradise
An eight-bedroom oceanfront mansion in Ocean Ridge not only has plenty to keep adults busy —including 101 linear feet of ocean frontage — but plenty of features to keep younger generations happy as well.
The 17,183-square-foot, two-story home, which sits on a .93-acre lot at 6275 N. Ocean Blvd., is listed for $29.9 million.
It has six full and three half baths, an epicurean kitchen with a butler’s room, three refrigerators, three dishwashers, a coffee center and a 15-foot kitchen island that allows for multiple chefs to cook at one time.
Additional features include his-and-hers offices, an oceanside primary bedroom with oversized walk-in closets and a private balcony, two laundry rooms, a gift-wrapping room, a guest house and an elevator.
Outside, there’s a pool with water slide, a loggia and a tiki hut with wood ceilings. Winding sandy paths lead to a private beach.
Kids will no doubt enjoy the two nautical-themed bunkrooms, the Alice-inWonderland-like play area and the media room.
“This house was custom designed for family,” said Candace Friis, a real estate broker with The Corcoran Group in Delray Beach, who holds the listing with colleague Phillip Friis.
“It’s for someone who wants a warm home. It’s got a soul.”
The Town of Ocean
Ridge is about three miles long and is bounded on the south by Briny Breezes, on the west by the Intracoastal Waterway, on the east by the Atlantic Ocean and on the north by the Boynton Inlet. It is home to approximately 1,700 permanent residents, according to the town’s website.
“This house lends itself to what South Florida is,” said Friis. “It has open-air porches, ocean breezes and the juxtaposition of inside and outside living.”
Public records show that the current owners purchased the property in January 2002 for $2.8 million. They custom-built the “classic Bermuda”-style home, which was completed in 2005 and fully renovated four years ago, Friis said.
Friis said they are selling to move closer to their children.
