Sprouts set to open store in West Boca

- By Ron Hurtibise

Another new Sprouts Farmers Market is scheduled to open in South Florida, and this one will be easily accessible to consumers in the western suburbs of southern Palm Beach and northern Broward counties.

The fast-growing affordable organic grocery chain plans to open its newest store on April 28 at 9831 Glades Road.

The new Sprouts will join existing Shadowwood Square tenants Best Buy, Old Navy, and Bed Bath & Beyond northeast of the intersection of Glades Road and U.S. 441/State Road 7.

About 80 employees will be hired to staff the new location. Candidates are encouraged to interview for the positions at a hiring fair at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Boca Raton at 661 NW 53rd Street. The event will take place on March 14 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on March 16 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Job applications are also being accepted on Sprouts’ website at about.sprouts.com/careers.

Since the debut of its Wellington store in March 2019, Sprouts has expanded its offerings for consumers on alternative diets, such as vegan, gluten-free, paleo and ketogenic.

The chain also offers a wellstocked meat and seafood counter and wide varieties of ready-tocook frozen meals, fresh produce, hot to-go foods and nutritional supplements.

The West Boca location would be Sprouts’ 37th in Florida if a new store in the Central Florida community The Villages opens as planned on March 17.

It will also be the 11th Sprouts in the South Florida metro region, following stores in Deerfield Beach, Wellington, Jupiter, Miramar, Boynton Beach, Oakland Park, West Kendall, Dania Beach, Homestead and West Palm Beach.

TRX moving headquarters to Delray Beach

TRX, sellers of fitness equipment and creators of digital videos focused on what the company calls “functional training,” is moving its headquarters from San Francisco to a 12,000-square-foot studio and training center in Delray Beach, according to a news release. The facility will be located in a former Office Depot at 1110 South Federal Highway.

The move follows reacquisition of the company by its founder Randy Hetrick and the appoint

Traditional memberships won’t be sold, but members of the public can sign up for daily fitness classes “led by world-class trainers” at the headquarters, which will feature “luxurious amenities” including secure lockers, private showers, changing rooms and saunas. Training summits will regularly bring more than 100 visitors to the area.

A video studio at the site will be used to shoot live and on-demand content distributed through TR Training Club, the company’s digital platform.

Functional training, the company’s website explains, “helps provide you with the strength, stability, and mobility you need to thrive in your life and sports.” It entails mastering “basic functional movement patterns like pushing, pulling, hinging, squatting, rotating, carrying and gait patterns — walking and running — every day. Functional training utilizes exercises that improve your movement proficiency.”

No information was available on when the new headquarters will open. More information about t he company can be found at its website: trxtraining.com.
