Jonathan Mish has joined Coral Springs-based ABB Optical Group as chief information officer. Previously, Mish was vice president of IT strategic operations for Ryder System, a provider of transportation and supply chain management products. Mish He previously was vice president of IT business transformation for Brightstar Corp. and as senior manager of IT corporate systems for Burger King Corp.

Jeffrey M. Welch has been appointed chief executive officer of Florida Medical Center and Tenet’s Miami-Dade Group, which consists of a network of five hospitals. Welch will be responsible for overseeing all strategic, operational and clinical activities at Florida Medical Center, and he will provide oversight and leadership for the other hospitals in the Miami-Dade Group. Additionally, Delray Medical Center appointed Maggie Gill as chief executive officer and the new Palm Beach Group CEO for Tenet Healthcare, which consists of a network of five hospitals.
Surgeon Sergio Villegas has joined Baptist Health Medical Group, a network of primary care doctors and specialists, and is affiliated with Baptist Hospital of Miami, Doctors Hospital and South Miami Hospital. Additionally, Surgeon Dan Ruiz has joined the network and is affiliated with Baptist Hospital, Homestead Hospital and Mariners Hospital.
Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center announced that Dr. Vanessa Rojas has joined the medical staff as a primary care physician in the Center’s Adult Clinic with a focus on patients from the Comprehensive Family AIDS Program who are infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS. Previously, Rojas was a physician at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and Montefiore Medical Center in New York.
Robert J. Stilley, chairman of the Jupiter Medical Center Board of Trustees, was named Trustee of the Year by the Florida Hospital Association during the organization’s annual Celebration of Achievement in Quality and Service Awards. Stilley is chief executive officer of HeartCare Imaging Inc.

The Village at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach has named Andrea Fredericks as the center’s director of marketing. The 506,000-square-foot venue, built in conjunction with a thoroughbred racing facility, features boutique shops, restaurants and entertainment.

Ricardo Mertens recently joined Brazilian-based Forno de Minas USA, in Coral Springs, as its new marketing analyst, from Crunchflow, where he was a sales and business development representative. Mertens will oversee the company’s social media accounts, events and assist in elevating the company’s signature product — Pão de Queijo, a gluten-free cheese roll.
Greenacres-based chocolates manufacturer and retailer Hoffman’s Chocolates has promoted Randall Vitale to president. Vitale joined the company as regional vice president in 2016. Additionally, Amy Kopchak, previously with PEZ Candy Inc. who led marketing, has joined Hoffman’s as director of marketing; and Paul Schneider, who for seven years was with Godiva Chocolatier as South Florida district manager, joined as director of stores. BBX Capital is the parent company of Hoffman’s Chocolates.

The Florida Collectors Association, a state unit of the ACA International, The Association of Credit and Collection Professionals, has installed Melissa Nash as president for the 2018-2019 term. Nash is president and chief executive officer of West Palm Beach-based ARI — Accounts Receivables Inc. since 2007. Other South Floridians named to the organization’s board of directors include Pam Kirchner, of Miami.
Natbank, National Association, a subsidiary of the National Bank of Canada, has appointed Nicolas Katsiyianis, from Eight Capital Partners, as a new Board of Directors member for 2018, in Hollywood. Prior to joining Eight Capital Partners as a senior partner and Genuity Capital Markets in Montreal as a senior partner, he was based in Boston as an executive director for CIBC World Markets. Katsiyianis previously was a Mentor for the Kenneth Woods investment program for stock and asset allocation at Concordia University John Molson School of Business.

Ocean Bank has named Yuni Navarro as chief administrative officer, in Miami. Navarro joined Ocean Bank in 1993, becoming vice president and human resources manager in 2002, then senior vice president and later executive vice president and head of human resources. The promotion is part of a bank-wide management strategy preparing the way for the retirement of Terry Curry, Ocean Bank’s EVP and chief operating officer.
