PAHOKEE — Glades Central quarterback Davius Richard completed 21 passes for 325 yards and three touchdowns to lead the visiting Raiders to a 22-12 victory on Saturday night against the Pahokee Blue Devils in the annual Muck Bowl.

Glades Central’s Jymetre Hester also had a big game as he caught five passes for 110 yards and a touchdown and added 40 yards rushing.

It was a game of two halves where Pahokee

(5-5) won the second half, but Glades Central’s

22-point second quarter was the difference.

“The ultimate goal is to win a state championship, but the big goal is to win the Muck Bowl,” said Glades Central coach Jesse Hester, who is a combined 6-2 in eight Muck Bowls as a player and a coach.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Raiders (7-3) struck first. On their third drive of the game, the Raiders scored with 10:27 left in the first half when Richard connected with Odieu Hilaire on an

18-yard touchdown pass, capping a six-play,

60-yard drive. The PAT attempt was blocked.

The game’s most exciting play took place on the next play when Pahokee’s Leroy Love returned the Pahokee quarterback Jaeze Tracy tries to escape from two Glades Central defenders during the Muck Bowl.

kickoff 70 yards to the Raiders’ 25 yard line.

Three plays later, Pahokee quarterback Jaeze Tracy found Lamonte Graham standing at the

10-yard line. Graham then zig-zagged his way to the end zone. Pahokee’s PAT attempt was blocked.

On the Raiders’ next two drives, they scored on a pair of 15-yard TD passes – to Hester at the

6:05 mark and to Javonte Williams with 1:52 left in the first half.

With 32.7 seconds left in the first half, Glades Central’s Kourtney Ware intercepted a Pahokee pass and was tackled at the Pahokee 30. Six plays later, Glades Central’s Jose Garcia converted a

22-yard field goal on the final play of the first half. Glades Central led 22-6 at halftime.

Pahokee had a chance to cut into the lead late in the third quarter when LaVonski Williams scored on a 6-yard run, but it was nullified by a chop block. Pahokee eventually turned the ball over on downs.

With 10:13 left in the game, Pahokee put a dent in their 16-point deficit when Williams scored a

6-yard TD run, but a scuffle between Williams and Glades Central’s Ernest Jackson led to both players being ejected.

Pahokee was unable to cut into the Raiders’ lead any further.
