Miami Bridge Youth & Family Services has named Emilio E. Vento as its new chief programs officer, to oversee daily operations of the organization’s multiple programs including residential facilities, full case management, and community-based programs. Vento was formerly chief operations officer at Vento Dynamics, Inc. where he provided management and leadership services to social and health services organizations aswell as professional development opportunities and in-service training sessions to local corporations. Hewas also chief executive officer of The Miami Coalition for a Safe and Drug-Free Community Inc. for four years. He is a founding member of the Father hood Task force of South Florida and former Advisory Board member; a member of the Alternative Response System statewide work group which was tasked with revamping child protective investigations; and has served as a Community Advisory Board member for the Healthy Families Florida program.
Kathryn Holcomb, major gifts officer at United Way of Broward County, has been selected to participate in United Way Worldw id e’ s LEAD Program, a program is designed to provide learning and leadership development to nurture skill development, networking, and knowledge share, with dedicated support for career growth within the United Way Network.
South Florida Institute on Aging, a nonprofit dedicated to bettering the socio-economic lives of South Florida’s aging community, appointed Nikki Austin-Shipp as chief executive officer. Prior to joining So FIA, Austin-Shipp was community relations director for Congresswoman Frederica Smith Wilson.
Medical, wellness
Cleveland Clinic Weston has announced the addition of John Bibawy and Emad Hakemi to its Heart and Vascular team. Bibawy is a cardiologist who specializes in electrophysiology and heart rhythm disorders, and Hakemi is an interventional cardiologist with specialty training in structural heart disease.
Maria Jayoussi has joined Nicklaus Children’s Health System as vice president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer for the health system’s physician enterprise, Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists. Most recently, shewas the executive director of finance for Wake Med Physicians Practices in Raleigh, N.C.
Morse Life Hospice and Palliative Care has promoted Pamela McCorry to the newly created Chaplain Chair. She joined the notfor-profit in May 2019 as spiritual care coordinator and clinical pastoral counselor.
Literacy
Broward County Library Director Kelvin Watson is one of 10 prominent community heroes featured in the new deck of Heroes Trading Cards 2021 series, the latest collection of full-color, comic-quality trading cards fromthe Broward-based nonprofit foundation Positivity Pays, that creates content such as for graphic novels and children’s books with uplifting messages and relatable, motivational heroes of color, highlighting unsung community heroes. Each card is individually created by local artist/illustrator Calo Art (Carlos Ampudia) and printed locally by PIP Printing in Fort Lauderdale. In addition to Watson, the nine other “Heroes” included in the 2021 series are: Pastor Marcus Davidson–senior pastor, New Mount Olive Baptist Church; Eddie Fraiser – In Memory of former Dillard head coach, mentor; Stephen Garten – chief executive officer, Charity Charge Mastercard; Bobby Henry – publisher, The Westside Gazette; Mark Kent – chief executive officer, philanthropist, author, mentor; Tyrus McCloud – Former NFL player, prison ministry mentor; Stanley McClover – Former NFL Player, One Sleeve Nation mentor; Dr. Barbara Sharief – chief executive officer, South Florida Pediatric Homecare, Broward County Commissioner District 8; and Dr. La Tasha Russell–Clinical Psychologist, Founder of “Drive-By Therapy.” The Positivity Pays team is led by musician, motivational speaker and social media maven Ramon “Absoloot” Robinson and his partner, creative entrepreneur and consultant Brandon Freeny.

RKW Residential announced Carlos Vilchez as chief operating officer, based in Miami. Prior to joining RKW, Vilchez owned a consulting practice helping clients improve their operations through enhanced processes and training of employees on existing technology; and hewas previously an auditor at international accounting firm PwC.
Cultural
The Broward Performing Arts Foundation announced recent board and committee chair elections. Stephanie Aoun, a private wealth adviser within the investment management division of Goldman Sachs, was elected to the Broward Performing Arts Foundation Board of Directors. Ann Burris, who was appointed to the Broward Performing Arts Foundation Board of Directors in 2017, was elected treasurer of the board. Also, chairs of two committees were announced: Ray Leightman, a Broward Performing Arts Foundation Board past chair was elected chair of the Foundation’s Planned Giving Committee. He is the retired president of Northern Trust Bank in Broward County. George Taylor, Esq., a partner in Brinkley Morgan’s Estate and Trust Litigation and Business Litigation practice groups, was elected chair of the Broward Performing Arts Foundation’s Governance Committee.
Chambers
The Florida Association of Chamber Professionals installed its 2020-2021board of directors at its recent annual conference, including Noel Martinez, President and CEO of the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce. FACP works to advance excellence in chamber management in the State of Florida.
Law
Bryant Miller Olive P.A. Shareholder Jo Linda Herring was appointed to the National Association of Bond Lawyers Board of Directors. NABL, established in 1979, promotes the integrity of the municipal market through the education of its members in the laws affecting state and municipal bonds. Herring began as a practicing attorney with Bryant Miller Olive P.A. in 1996 and is co-chair of the firm’s public finance group.

Margie Helmholdt, president of a clothing company in Fort Lauderdale, was appointed to the LeMieux Center for Public Policy Advisory Board at Palm Beach Atlantic University. She is president of the Lou Church Educational Foundation, past president of the Women’s Center for Breast Health and a volunteer for Holy Cross Women’s Center for breast cancer.
