Gino Santorio, president and chief executive officer of Broward Health, was appointed to the Florida Hospital Association’ s board of trustees.
Neurosurgeon Andreas C. To mac joined Holy Cross Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician employed group of more than 160 physicians providing services throughout Broward and Palm Beach counties. Tomac focuses on complex spinal surgery, minimal invasive surgery, spinal oncology and skull base, trauma neurosurgery level I. Tomac was most recently staff neurosurgeon in Colorado at Centura Health St. Anthony, a Level ITrauma Center.
Dr. Marcos Mestre was appointed vice president and chief medical officer for Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Mestre joined the hospital’s parent organization, Nicklaus Children’s Health System, in 2005 as a pediatric hospital medicine physician. He went on to become director of the division of hospital medicine and president of the medical staff. Most recently, Mestre was senior medical director, pediatric services and section chief, for pediatric hospital medicine for Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists, the NCHS clinical group practice.
Board-certified radiation oncologist Ana Botero, M.D., joined Miami Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health South Florida, and specializes in treating brain, head and neck, lung, gastrointestinal, breast, gynecological, prostate and thyroid cancers, aswell as oligometa static diseases.
Doctor’s Choice Home Care Inc., independent home care agency, promoted Deborah Strehan Dyer, RN and Sue Tamburin, RN to the roles of vice president of operations. Dyer will be responsible for leadership of the Broward, Miami, Sarasota, and Stuart providers, which include branches in Broward, Englewood, Fort Myers, Naples, Port Charlotte, Miami, Sarasota, and Stuart. Tamburin will oversee leadership of the Bradenton, Brooksville, Gainesville, Orlando, and Palm Harbor providers.
Veterinary
MVS Pet Care, a national franchise network for house call veterinarians, hired Dr. Jessica Duke and Dr. Annie Latraverse. They will serve areas throughout South Florida, including Miami, Coral Gables, Jupiter, Palm Beach, West Palm Beach and surrounding areas.
Recognition
NSU’s Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship honored three business leaders and inducted them into its 2020 Entrepreneur and Business Hall of Fame, the college’s highest honor: James F. Allen, chairman for Hard Rock International and chief executive officer of Seminole Gaming; Dan Doyle Jr., chief executive officer of DEX Imaging Inc.; and Kristin Johnson, co-founder and chief executive officer of Hotwire Communications.

Palm Beach Opera announced a new board of directors including: Todd Lazen by, founder of Victory Partners and Royal Ascot Partners; David Moscow, with experience in media, retail and transportation industries; and Dr. Donna Kesselman Raggio worked in both the fashion industry and on Wall Street before becoming a doctor, where she specialized in pain management and palliative care.

RCC Associates general contractor announced the promotion of former Vice President of Operations, Robyn Raphael-Dynan, to president of RCC Associates. Beverly Raphael-Altman will remain as chairwoman and chief executive officer of the company. Raphael-Dynan joined the family business in 2004 and began her career there as a project coordinator.

Forrest Heathcott, whose career has spanned nearly 30 years with JM Family Enterprises, most recently as president of its subsidiary JM&A Group, announced he will retire March 31, 2021. Dan Chait, JM Family executive and president of sister company Southeast Toyota Finance, will assume leadership of JM&A Group beginning Jan. 1, 2021, in addition to maintaining his current position. Chait joined SETF in 2002 as vice president, Asset Management. In 2007 he became group vice president responsible for the company’ s Portfolio Management, Dealer Services, Operations, Sales and Marketing functions. In 2011, Chait was named senior vice president, and in 2012 became president.
The Rick Case Automotive Group announced that Rita Case will assume the role of chief executive officer, succeeding her husband, the late Rick Case. Rita Casewas most recently chief operating officer.

Allison Handler Maldari has joined Fort Lauderdale-based consumer justice law firm Freedland Harwin Valori PL as an associate attorney. Maldari focuses her practice on representing plaintiffs and their families in medical malpractice, birth injury, and nursing home negligence cases. Prior to joining FHV, she practiced law in Virginia.

Rabbi Dr. Adrian A. Bernal is joining the Leadership of Beth Yeshua Messianic Synagogue in Coral Springs, responsible for pastoral care/counseling, outreach, and spearheading Beth Yeshua’s strategy to grow and prosper. Over the past 20 years he has led congregations in Hawaii, Wyoming and Alaska.
