TE Myarick promoted from practice squad

The Miami Dolphins tight end Chris Myarick made his NFL debut last week when he was on the active roster for Miami’s win over the Los Angeles Chargers and it appears the developmental player will get a second chance to make a favorable impression.

The Dolphins called up Myarick from the practice squad for the second straight week, and will likely make him active for Sunday’s 4:05 p.m. game against the Denver Broncos (3-6).

Myarick, a former Temple standout the Dolphins have been developing on their practice squad since 2019, hasn’t had an NFL catch yet.

It’s likely that Miami will continue to use Myarick on special teams because of a knee injury to Durham Smythe. Smythe practiced all week without limitations, but the Dolphins are taking added precautions.

Mike Gesicki and Smythe are Miami’s flex and in-line tight ends, and Adam Shaheen’s role continues to grow.

Myarick was the third player called up from the practice squad this week. Benito Jones, a rookie from Mississippi State, and veteran receiver Antonio Callaway were called up from the practice squad and placed on the active roster earlier this week.
