- By David Furones

Vivian Borregales remembers being in line to sign up Miami Hurricanes kickerJose Borregales for football for the first time when hewas 10.

It would also turn out to be the first time for her younger son, Andres Borregales, 5 at the time.

Both started playing soccer at 4 — Jose while the family still lived inVenezuela. Asfootball intrigued him and Vivian gave in to letting him play, a coach approached Andres when they were all waiting in line, asking howold hewas. When the coach received the answer, he advised them that he was old enough to play Pee-Wee aswell.

Always wanting to do what his older brother did while growing up, that’s how Andres Borregales’ football journey began.
