Even though the event took place over sixmonths after its originally scheduled date, the Clinics Can Help Golf Classicwas a hole-in-one for charity.
The seventh annual tournament raised over $40,000 for Clinics Can Help’sKINDERProject, which supports getting medical equipment to children with special needs. The tournament took place at theWellingtonNational Golf Club.
Clinics CanHelp, the West Palm Beach-based nonprofit helping to enable access to health care all through the donation of medical equipment and supplies, made some changes to its annual golf tournament but officials said theywere thrilled with the continued support of the community and sponsors.
The reduced foursome tournamentwas sold out at 30 foursomes. WPEC-Ch.12 morning anchorMatt Lincoln once again served as event chair, while longtime supporter Dana Quigley served as honorary chair.
“Bringing this equipment to children, and their families, is not something that should be a luxury,” said CCHChiefExecutiveOfficerOwen O’Neill. “These are items they need to live. We areworking toward a world where those in need can get the equipment to thrive, regardless of their ability to pay.”
Many of the children in CCH’sKINDERProject are affected by serious medical conditions andwould not be able to afford the supplies and equipment that enable them to lead more independent lives.
“We are grateful to continue to have the support of great leaders, the support of loyal golfers and a committee that works tirelessly to see our organization grow,” O’Neill said.
“Incredibly, we have seen a year wherewe have helped a record number of clients,” he said. “With monies raised at this event, we can continue to support thosewhoneed us, when they need us and continue to build partnerships to reach even more children and adults in need.”
