Why no shot at getting the shot?

I read the paper every morning and have TV news on at the same time. While driving for my job, I listen to MSNBC or NPR. In the afternoon, news is in on my TV. So how is it that by the time I heard that vaccines were available by appointment at Broward Health, I also heard that trying to schedule an appointment would be futile? Then, the very next day, it was announced that no future appointments would be available until February.

Who were the lucky few who somehow knew in advance of the availability of the vaccine? It seems very apparent that some individuals were given access to this information prior to the general public.We deserve an explanation as to why we had absolutely no shot at getting this shot.
