The George Snow Scholarship Fund, dedicated to helping deserving students within the community achieve their career goals through their pursuit of higher education, announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Trustees: Doug Fash, co-founder of Sunflower Landscaping; Matthew Maschler, owner of RealEstateFinder.com and Kyle Stewart, vice president of Investments PIM Portfolio Manager at Wells Fargo Advisors in Boca Raton
Quantum Foundation named a new board chair, West Palm Beach resident and retired physician Dr. Gerald O’Connor, for a two-year term.
The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties named Danita D. Nias as its new president and chief executive officer. She succeeds Brad Hurlburt, who is retiring after seven years with the Foundation. Prior to joining the Foundation, Nias was vice president for Institutional Advancement and chief executive officer of the FAU Foundation Inc., at Florida Atlantic University.
Erik Chafin has been named chief development officer for Children’s Harbor, which provides a safe harbor and support to at-risk children, youth and families. Prior to joining Children’s Harbor, Chafin was director of business development at Connections for Business, an IT manage services provider for businesses.
Law
Brinkley Morgan appointed John Lambros as the new managing partner of the firm, in Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and West Palm Beach, succeeding Roberta Stanley, who will remain at the firm and continue serving on the management committee.
Bryant Miller Olive P.A. announced that JoLinda Herring, a shareholder in the firm’s Miami office, was elected as BMO’s new chief executive officer and managing shareholder. Grace Dunlap, who has served as BMO’s managing shareholder since 2010, will now serve as the firm’s chairman of the board. Herring joined BMO as a law clerk in 1994. Most recently, Herring was co-chair of BMO’s Public Finance Group, as well as chair of the firm’s Board of
Directors. In 2020, she also was appointed to the National Association of Bond Lawyers Board of Directors.
Wolfe Pincavage, a Miami boutique law firm specializing in healthcare, insurance coverage, and business, promoted Becky Greenfield to equity partner.
Genovese Joblove & Battista P.A. announced that former U.S. Bankruptcy Judge John K. Olson has joined the firm as a partner. Olson served a 14-year term as a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of Florida in Fort Lauderdale, retiring in February 2020. Prior to joining the bench, Olson was a shareholder at law firm Stearns Weaver Miller for 18 years.
Spiritus Law announced that Steven W. Zelkowitz joined the firm as managing partner. Jonathan Portuondo also is joining Spiritus Law, as an associate.
Real estate
Tricera Capital, the Miamibased real estate investment firm, announced the addition of Adam Fischer as general counsel.
Finance
Miami-based alternative lending and commercial real estate debt provider BGI Capital announced that Marcos Brito joined its Miami office as its new managing director, working also with its teams in Palm Beach County and New York. Marcos was previously regional manager of Seacoast National Bank. He also worked for Mercantil Bank.
Rehmann, financial services and advisory firm, announced the promotion of three associates in Jupiter. Among them, two have been promoted to Principal positions. The promotions are Michael Dillon and Cynthia Roberts as principal and Kathy McCue ,as advisory and tax manager.
Medical
Board-certified neuro-oncologist and medical oncologist Manmeet Ahluwalia, M.D., FACP, M.B.A., joined Baptist Health’s Miami Cancer Institute as deputy director, chief scientific officer and chief of solid tumor medical oncology. Board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, neuro-oncology and hematology, Ahluwalia is a leading expert in brain metastases and primary brain tumors, from the Cleveland Clinic, where he was the Dean and Diane Miller Family Endowed Chair in Neuro-Oncology and the head of operations in the Rose Ella Burkhardt Brain Tumor and Neuro-Oncology Center. He was also a professor in the Department of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University.
Martin Roche, MD, joined HSS Florida in West Palm Beach. Roche works extensively with professional, amateur and recreational athletes, served as a Consultant Team Physician for the Miami Marlins, and is a member of the American and European Knee Society. He joins HSS Florida from Holy Cross Hospital, where he was director of the Robotic Joint Fellowship and has been in practice since 1996.

Moss Construction announced that Luis Hidalgo joined the firm as a vice president for South Florida.
