Cultural
Karl Ruppert is the new chairman of Ballet Palm Beach’s board of directors. Ruppert is managing director and South Florida complex director at UBS Private Wealth Management.
The city of Coral Gables named Warren Adams as its director of Historical Resources and Cultural Arts. He was most recently the city of Miami’s Historic Preservation Officer. Prior to that, Adams established the Historic Preservation Program at the city of Boynton Beach. He was also executive director of the Broward Trust for Historic Preservation, and Historic Preservation Planner for West Palm Beach.
Law
Two of South Florida’s business law firms are uniting to form Lorium Law, with attorneys in Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Chicago, Pensacola, and North Carolina. Lorium Law is being created from the partnership of Marshall Grant PLLC, with Rice Pugatch Robinson Storfer & Cohen PLLC. Craig Pugatch is managing member of Lorium and formerly of Rice Pugatch Robinson Storfer & Cohen PLLC. Adam Marshall is also a managing member of Lorium and formerly of Marshall Grant PLLC.
Fan Li, who has worked for the past five years as an assistant public defender for Miami-Dade County, has joined Kelley | Uustal trial attorneys in Fort Lauderdale.

Recognition
Dorothy Jacks, Palm Beach County’s Property Appraiser, was recognized as The Women in Leadership Award honoree in the Public Sector, by The Executive Women of the Palm Beaches Foundation. Jacks is a member of the Mounts Botanical Garden’s board of directors, and also a board member of the Economic Forum of Palm Beach County and the Women’s Foundation of Palm Beach County.
Medical
The Palm Beach Health Network announced that four team members were honored by Tenet Healthcare
as part of its annual recognition program. These individuals are “Tenet Hero Nominees” for their contributions in 2020. They are: Cat Dalberg, employee health nurse, Delray Medical Center; Rebecca Washam, registered nurse, oncology, Good Samaritan Medical Center; Cheryl Morkan, assistant nurse manager, cardiac unit, Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center; Rich Avato, systems analyst, St. Mary’s Medical Center & Palm Beach Children’s Hospital; and Kelley Swannick, NICU nurse, West Boca Medical Center. Also, Good Samaritan Medical Center announced that Rebecca Washam, RN, was honored by Tenet Healthcare as part of its annual recognition program. Washam was named a “Tenet Hero” and also inducted into the Tenet Heroes’ Hall of Fame for her contributions in 2020.
FoundCare Inc. added three members to its board of trustees: Stephanie Carden, Miron Ebanks and Marcia Howard ,in West Palm Beach. Carden worked as staff attorney at Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County for 23 years before retiring. Ebanks is chief executive officer of Merricare Community Integrated Services. Howard is the assistant controller at Palm Beach Atlantic University. In the past, he was the chief financial officer at FoundCare from 2006 until 2014.
HCA Healthcare named Kenneth Jones chief executive officer of Northwest Medical Center, in Margate. Most recently, Jones was president of AMITA Health Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, Ill.
Agricultural
Matt Boyson, Mounts Botanical Garden’s horticulture supervisor, was asked to serve on the board of the Florida Nurseries, Growers, and Landscapers Association, Palm Beach chapter.
Cybersecurity
MedSec, a company focused on cybersecurity for both medical device manufacturers and the hospitals and health systems that use those devices, announced the addition of Andrew Donarumo to its executive team as chief technology officer. Prior to joining MedSec, he was enterprise architect at Genpact, where he led the company’s Oasis Technology Department, including the development, promotion, and adoption of technology strategy, best practices, and standards. He also worked as enterprise architect and technology evangelist at Bridgewater Associates, and as chief technology officer for internal systems at Dow Jones.
Construction
Moss Construction announced that it promoted Alfredo Espinosa to vice president of solar preconstruction. Espinosa has been with Moss for five years, starting as an intern.
Governmental
The city of Wilton Manors appointed Gary Blocker as the city’s next police chief, following the retirement announcement by Chief Paul O’Connell. Blocker will assume his new role April 3, following O’Connell’s retirement on April 2.
Community
Tequisha Y. Myles of the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County was named to the Board of Directors of Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches, Inc.
NEXT GENERATIONS of Holocaust Survivors, the Boynton Beach-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting Holocaust education and assisting Holocaust survivors in need, has named Mark W. Glickman as its director of development.

Jeffrey E. Huber, interim director and associate professor of the School of Architecture in Florida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, was elevated to the College of Fellows within the American Institute of Architects.

Broker Associate Patrick Vysata joined Palazzo Della Luna as a sales executive, on Fisher Island. Most recently, he was sales director of The Fairchild Condominium in Coconut Grove with ONE Sotheby’s International Realty.
