A SECRET HAVEN

This brand-new mansion is hidden behind coral gate and botanical gardens

A seven-bedroom Tropical Modern estate, tucked away in Miami behind a custom coral gate and surrounded by botanical gardens, has been listed for $10.495 million.

Designed by Miami architect Gabriel Lopez, the 9,753-square-foot home, at 2930 Brickell Ave., is unusual for Miami because it has bedrooms on the ground floor, including a bedroom hidden by a wood wall, and main living areas on the second. A custom-designed glass spiral staircase, and an elevator, connect the two stories.

“It’s an upside-down concept,” said Angel Nicolas, a real estate agent with Compass Florida in Coconut Grove, who holds the listing. “The pool, kitchen, outdoor kitchen, family room and dining room are all on the second floor, and that’s one of the coolest things about the house.”

Nicolas said that the home is surrounded by trees and looking out the windows on the second story evokes a feeling of being in a treehouse.

Interior features of the home include nine bathrooms, two fireplaces and floor-to-ceiling windows that enhance indoor-outdoor living.

The master bedroom has a freestanding tub and fireplace in the bathroom, and the kitchen features appliances by Sub-Zero and Wolf, as well as a 10-foot island.

Additional features include a movie theater, home gym, a wine wall and two electric car-charging stations.

Outside, there are two pools — a lap pool and kiddie pool — as well as a Jacuzzi spa, summer kitchen and sitting areas.

The current owner, ARD 2930 LLC, purchased the property in May 2018 for $2.34 million.

The house was constructed by Miami custom homebuilder Lucid Design Build. The home is nearly completed, with the certificate of occupancy expected shortly, Nicolas said.
