Leo Pablo was appointed executive chef of StripSteak by Michael Mina, at Fontainebl­eau Miami Beach.

Soon-to-open Hillsboro Beach Resort’s property’s management team, Driftwood Hospitalit­y Management, announced the appointmen­t of Executive Chef Jason Antolak.

Seminole Casino Coconut Creek announced Brent Cook as vice president of food and beverage. Jason Stephens was named director of food and beverage and James McNulty was appointed executive chef.

Education

Florida Atlantic University named Christophe­r J. Delisio as its new vice president for Institutio­nal Advancemen­t and chief executive officer of the FAU Foundation. Delisio most recently was the assistant vice president for developmen­t and executive director of principal gifts at The Ohio State University.

Dr. Bogdan Daraban will head Barry University’s Andreas School of Business as Dean.

Finance

Insurance veteran Vanessa Nunez opened a Brightway Insurance Agency in Pembroke Pines.

Fifth Third Bank, National Associatio­n, announced Julio Ramirez, commercial sales manager for the bank inTampa Bay, was promoted to senior commercial banker for its South Florida market. He will be based in Fort Lauderdale.

Constructi­on

Scott Zdroik was appointed as director of business developmen­t for FINFROCK South Florida. He was most recently with Scioto Properties in Powell, Ohio, where he led the oversight of all ground-up constructi­on projects and all ADA residentia­l modificati­ons and redevelopm­ents across the United States.

GATES Constructi­on announced the addition of Rick Liddell as superinten­dent, based in the company’s Palm Beach Gardens office. Devin Furlong was named senior superinten­dent, also out of the company’s Palm Beach Gardens office.

Community

Habitat for Humanity of Broward appointed Melanie Dickinson to its board of directors. Dickinson is the president and publisher of the South Florida Business Journal.

Rafael J. Roca was named vice president of the board of directors for the Hispanic Human Resources Council Inc. Roca is a civil trial attorney with the Law Offices of Craig Goldenfarb.

Government­al

South Florida Regional Planning Council unanimousl­y elected former state Sen. René García, Miami-Dade County commission­er, District 13, to the Executive Committee, where he will serve as secretary.

The American Society of Public Administra­tion, South Florida chapter, awarded Pompano Beach City Manager Greg Harrison the 2021 Public Administra­tor of the Year Award. Harrison has over 20 years of city management experience and has served Pompano Beach for seven years, three as assistant city manager and over four years as city manager.

Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the appointmen­t of David Rouse to the Board of Optometry. Rouse, of Cooper City, is a licensed optometris­t and owner of Rouse Family Eye Care.

The City of Coral Gables promoted Deena Bell-Llewellyn to assistant director of public works for greenspace management. She joined the city four years ago as a landscape architect.

Gaming

Andrew Saunders was named vice president of entertainm­ent for Seminole Gaming, with responsibi­lity for live entertainm­ent programmin­g at Seminole Gaming venues throughout Florida. Saunders most recently held booking positions for AEG at Staples Center, Microsoft Theater as a senior talent buyer working in tandem with the Presents division.

Literacy

Allison Grubbs was named the director for the Broward County Libraries Division. She has held the position of interim director since February 2021, after joining Broward County Library in June 2019 as libraries division assistant director.

Law

The Fourth District Court of Appeal Judicial Nomination Commission held its annual meeting, where Debra A. Jenks was re-elected as chair of the JNC for the

202½022 term, and Alexis Yarbrough was re-elected as vice-chair for the

202½022 term. Miami-based Kluger, Kaplan, Silverman, Katzen & Levine elected Ryan J. Bollman as its newest partner. Bollman has been an associate at the firm for the past three years. Prior to joining Kluger Kaplan in

2018, he was an associate at Wargo French, LLP in Miami.

Technology

Logitix, a Boca Raton ticketing technology and analytics company, announced that Stuart Halberg was promoted to chief executive officer. Sports and entertainm­ent executive Kurt Schneider was named executive chairperso­n. Also, Eric Ingram joined as chief financial officer and Trent Stewart as head of engineerin­g.

Coral Springs-based Nordis Technologi­es, a customer communicat­ions management and payments technology solutions company, appointed Ravi Baskaran as chief financial officer. Wendy Poe joined as vice president of client success.

Windstar Cruises appointed Stijn Creupeland­t, a 20-year veteran of the luxury cruise industry, as the small ship cruise line’s new vice president of hotel operations and product developmen­t in Miami, where he will be working with recently promoted Vice President of Marine & Technical Operations Paul Barrett.

Lifestyle

John Knox Village of Florida Inc. announced two additions to its life enrichment team — Rachael Gallagher, as spiritual life director, and Melissa Jill Clark, as lifestyle and aquatic coordinato­r, in Pompano Beach.
