Deadline for Top Workplaces competition extended

- By David Lyons South Florida Sun Sentinel

South Florida workers now have until Dec. 17 to nominate their employers for the South Florida Sun Sentinel’s annual Top Workplaces 2022 competition.

For the eighth consecutive year, the Sun Sentinel is partnering with Energage, an employment consulting firm based in the Philadelphia area, to determine which employers fared the best in keeping their workforces focused, productive and fulfilled.

The COVID-19 pandemic has made achieving those goals more difficult for both management and workers, as the virus and concerns over vaccines created new

tensions in the workplace. Among other things, many employees uncomfortable with their working environments showed no qualms with testing the job market and seeking employment elsewhere.

Despite the challenges, Energage has thus far successfully conducted Top Workplaces surveys with media partners in 59 U.S. markets and has surveyed more than 2 million employees at 8,000 organizations.

In South Florida, more than 200 companies have signed up to have their employees take the current Top Workplaces survey, according to Energage,

The rules

Between now and Dec. 17, employees can nominate their own employer or another private- or public-sector organization as a Top Workplace — and tell us why.

Any organization in the public, private, nonprofit or government sectors with 35 or more employees in South Florida is eligible to participate.

Employees evaluate workplaces via a 24-question survey.

The results will be published next year at a date to be determined. The outcome will be announced at a ceremonial lunch in the spring.

The phone number for nominations is (954) 666-0786. To place nominations online, go to http:// www.sunsentinel.com/ nominate.
