Health systems slowly relaxing visitation policies, COVID rules

As COVID-19 hospitaliz­ations start to decline in South Florida, many local health care systems are beginning to update protocols and lessen restrictio­ns on allowing visitors, etc. Here are the current policies at South Florida’s major hospitals. Call or check the websites below to verify requiremen­ts before visiting any rehabilita­tion center or health care facility.

Broward County

Broward Health: Level Green visitation policy in effect. Normal visitation for non-COVID patients. Virtual visits are encouraged whenever possible. Guests who arrive without a mask will be provided one. Social distancing and hand hygiene are required. browardhea­lth.org

Cleveland Clinic Florida: Orange-level guidelines in effect. Two visitors per day, 18 years of age or older. Visitors also allowed for COVID-positive patients but must wear personal protective equipment upon arrival. This includes a gown, mask, goggles or face shield, and gloves.
