Boyd & Jenerette added Patrick Bailey as an associate in the firm’s Boca Raton office. Prior to joining the firm, Bailey worked as a floating law clerk for multiple judges at Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeal. He then went on to clerk for the Honorable Justice Jorge Labarga at the Florida Supreme Court.

Geographic Solutions, a provider of software solutions for workforce development, unemployment insurance, career exploration, and labor market information, announced that Mauritz Plenby
joined as a business development and partnership executive focusing on the company’s international sales. Most recently, Plenby was vice president of partnerships for the HM British Embassy in Miami.
Finch Recruitment Ltd announced its advisory board, including from Florida: Michael Bruno,
of Orlando, chief executive officer and founder for New Directions for Grads; Rob Garay, Orlando, who has held senior management-level positions for companies such as Nickelodeon, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, Hilton Worldwide, and Avid Technology; and Jen Klaassens,

Lifestyle
Tamara Sawicz, director of lifestyle at Vi at Lakeside Village in Lantana, was honored with a Hero Award from Argentum, the national association dedicated to supporting companies operating professionally managed, resident-centered senior living communities and the older adults and families they serve. Although officially named as an award recipient in 2020, her award presentation was delayed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Michaela Gack, Ph.D., scientific director of Cleveland Clinic’s Florida Research and Innovation Center, has received a National Institutes of Health Director’s Pioneer Award to support her research toward the development of broad-spectrum antiviral drugs. The Pioneer Award, established in 2004, challenges investigators from across all disciplines to pursue new research directions and develop groundbreaking, high-impact approaches to a broad area of biomedical, behavioral or social science.
