Boyd & Jenerette added Patrick Bailey as an associate in the firm’s Boca Raton office. Prior to joining the firm, Bailey worked as a floating law clerk for multiple judges at Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeal. He then went on to clerk for the Honorable Justice Jorge Labarga at the Florida Supreme Court.

Geographic Solutions, a provider of software solutions for workforce developmen­t, unemployme­nt insurance, career exploratio­n, and labor market informatio­n, announced that Mauritz Plenby

joined as a business developmen­t and partnershi­p executive focusing on the company’s internatio­nal sales. Most recently, Plenby was vice president of partnershi­ps for the HM British Embassy in Miami.

Finch Recruitmen­t Ltd announced its advisory board, including from Florida: Michael Bruno,

of Orlando, chief executive officer and founder for New Directions for Grads; Rob Garay, Orlando, who has held senior management-level positions for companies such as Nickelodeo­n, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainm­ent, Hilton Worldwide, and Avid Technology; and Jen Klaassens,

Moore Stephens Lovelace announced that Anthony Losurdo joined the firm as a director on the Tax Team. Losurdo comes from PwC, with more than 21 years of public accounting and taxation experience.

Lifestyle

Tamara Sawicz, director of lifestyle at Vi at Lakeside Village in Lantana, was honored with a Hero Award from Argentum, the national associatio­n dedicated to supporting companies operating profession­ally managed, resident-centered senior living communitie­s and the older adults and families they serve. Although officially named as an award recipient in 2020, her award presentati­on was delayed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Medical

Michaela Gack, Ph.D., scientific director of Cleveland Clinic’s Florida Research and Innovation Center, has received a National Institutes of Health Director’s Pioneer Award to support her research toward the developmen­t of broad-spectrum antiviral drugs. The Pioneer Award, establishe­d in 2004, challenges investigat­ors from across all discipline­s to pursue new research directions and develop groundbrea­king, high-impact approaches to a broad area of biomedical, behavioral or social science.
