Codina Partners, a real estate development, investment, and property management firm, announced the promotion of Antuanet Alvarez, from director of human resources to vice president of corporate operations.
Grandbridge Real Estate Capital LLC hired David B. Gahagan as senior vice president to manage the firm’s new Boca Raton office, returning to Grandbridge after a nine-year stint with Walker & Dunlop, where he held a production and management role. Rudy Molinet, chief executive officer and executive coach at Artemis Synergies Consulting, a firm specializing in strategic planning, management development, executive coaching, and corporate restructuring in the healthcare industry, and Nikki Austin-Shipp, founder and managing principal of The N.A.S. Advisory Group LLC, which specializes in creating relationships in governance, corporate America and charitable affairs, have been appointed to the Holy Cross Health Board of Directors.

Legal Aid Service of Broward County announced the retirement of long-time Executive
Director Anthony J. Karrat, effective at the end of January. Also, during the annual For the Public Good Gala fundraiser, Karrat received an Excellence in Justice Award, and the organization announced the creation of the Anthony J. Karrat Endowment Fund. Most recently, Karrat was honored by the Harvey Milk Foundation and The Pride Center at Equality Park with the Diversity Honors Award.
Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP announced the election of two South Florida attorneys in Miami and Fort Lauderdale as new partners. Financial Services attorney Peter A. Hernandez was named a partner in the Miami office. Insurance Services attorney Jenelle La Chuisa was named a partner in the Fort Lauderdale office.
Day Pitney LLP, announced the promotion of attorneys to partner, including two in Miami: Sarah B. Jacobson, international trusts and estates planning, and Georgia A. Thompson, complex commercial litigation.

Nonprofit Oolite Arts announced a partnership with Burnaway Magazine to expand coverage of Miami’s visual artists beyond South Florida and hired Jason Katz, a local writer/educator, as the publication’s Miami editor. Katz publishes Islandia Journal, a printed literary magazine of (sub)tropical myth, folklore, cryptozoology and the paranormal.

Hotel and resort management company Performance Hospitality
Management appointed Mark Anderson as new chief operating officer to manage their portfolio of hotels, including the Fort Lauderdale resort, B Ocean.
Miami Beach Convention Center named Ariane Hiltebrand as the new director of marketing and external relations, from Santa Rosa, California, where she acted as director of marketing planning and insights. She previously served as director of advertising and digital marketing for Sonoma County Tourism in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Community
Cathy Berkowitz, Religious School Education Director at B’nai Torah Congregation in Boca Raton, was honored by The Jewish Educators Assembly with a Lifetime Achievement Award. The JEA is an organization created to promote excellence among educators committed to Conservative Jewish education. Berkowitz joined B’nai Torah Congregation in 2004. She holds an honorary Doctorate Degree in Education Pedagogy from the Jewish Theological Seminary. She chairs the Education Directors Council of South Palm Beach County and is a board member of the JEA.
Rabbi David Steinhardt, senior Rabbi at B’nai Torah Congregation in Boca Raton, was named to the Melton School of Jewish Learning’s Rabbinic Council.
Milagro Center, the Delray Beach-based nonprofit organization providing academics, cultural arts, and mentoring to the community’s most at-risk children and teens, appointed Corey Mitleider as treasurer of the board of directors. Mitleider, director of corporate accounting & tax at NCCI in Boca Raton, has served on Milagro Center’s board of directors and finance committee since March 2021.
Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services announced the appointment of Aliyah Longhurst as director of the new Toby and Leon Cooperman Therapy & Family Resource Center, slated to open this Spring, as a one-stop shop for families with special needs.
AMIT, Israel’s premier religious Zionist education network, named veteran South Florida Jewish communal executive Roni Raab, Ed.D. as its new southeast regional director. Raab was most recently executive director of the South Florida office of the Jewish National Fund. Raab also has worked as an educator in South Florida Jewish day schools, including as head of school of the Hebrew Academy in Miami Beach, and before at Hillel Day School in Boca Raton; and at Boca Raton’s Donna Klein Jewish Academy as its middle school and founding high school principal.
Boris Espinoza, director, Citi Private Bank, joined Hispanic Unity of Florida’s board of directors.

Wesley Lowe Jr., director of instrumental arts at The Kings Academy, was named the Palm Beach Symphony Instrumental Music Teacher of the Year. An alumnus of The Kings Academy, Lowe was named the school’s director of instrumental arts in 2019 and has been recognized by the school with its Teacher Excellence Award and Bright Idea Award. The recognition comes with many educational opportunities for the honoree’s students, including coaching sessions by Palm Beach Symphony musicians for spring semester music students, a classroom visit by Symphony Music
Director Gerard Schwarz, complimentary tickets for the winner’s classes to attend a Palm Beach Symphony concert, and the opportunity for a student music ensemble of the winner’s choice to perform at a Palm Beach Symphony event.

Thoma Bravo, a software investment firm, announced the promotion of Andrew Almeida, Tara Gadgil, and Adam Solomon, from principal, to partner, in Miami. Almeida joined the company in 2012 as an associate from Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Gadgil joined in 2016 as a vice president, having worked previously as a vice president at Berkshire Partners, an associate at TPG Growth and an analyst at Goldman Sachs. Solomon joined in 2021 as a principal, having worked previously as a principal at Francisco Partners, an associate at Hellman & Friedman and an analyst at Gleacher Partners.
