Ruth Ann McDougal

-

The angels came on December 09, 2021 to guide Ruth home after a fierce eight-and-a-halfyear battle with cancer. It may have taken her breath but not her spirit or light. Ruth was born in Millsboro, DE on Sept 27,

1940 to Carl and Mahalia Revel. She had come from a large family of four brothers and two sisters. Bob, Kenneth, Leslie, Paul, Joyce, and Debbie. She also had numerous cousins, nephews and nieces residing in Maryland and Alabama.

Ruth and Charles R. McDougal married on December

18, 1959 in Pompano Beach, FL. She was a very loving and devoted wife and mother of three children Charles (Chuck), Michael, and Dwayne.

After retiring from her 20-year career with the Lauderdale Police Department, she continued careers with the Sun Sentinel and Michael’s Café.

She was a very strong woman and was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. Her passions were bowling and speed walking, and proudly received trophies for both. She loved going to or watching the Marlins play baseball, spending time in her garden, and completing challenging puzzles.

Ruth loved and cherished her grandchildren Nikita, Amanda, and Stacie. She also had a passion for spoiling her great grandchildren Audrey, Michael, Brayden, Antoine Jr (AJ), Javon, and Jacie.

She also had very deep affection for her beloved pets; Gizmo, Fabian, and

Rusty. Who could always be found by her side. Although Ruth will be dearly missed, we rejoice in knowing she will be reunited with her mother Mahalia, father Carl, husband Charles, son Michael, brothers Bob, Kenneth and Leslie

The family is truly grateful for all the additional care, help and prayers in the time leading to her passing.
