Gianna Sanchez, a digital line producer at CBS Interactive in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area, was awarded a national College Television Award from the Television Academy Foundation in March 2022 and will be participating in a special screening of her award-winning project at SeriesFest on May 7 in Denver. The awards program recognizes excellence in student-produced programs from colleges and universities nationwide. Sanchez, who is from Cooper City, along with seven of her classmates, won the award for ‘Best News or Sports Program’ for a project she produced titled “SportsDesk” while attending the University of Miami. The program is a half-hour, weekly show produced by University of Miami students that highlights the best of the week in sports.
