Sunset Islands mansion highlights Mediterranean luxury
If you’re looking for a new home in South Florida that has a modern Mediterranean flair, check out Villa Saint Tropez, a six-bedroom waterfront home in Miami Beach listed for $17.5 million.
This two-story residence, built in 1990 but recently renovated, is located at 1620 W. 21st St., on Sunset IV, one of the four Sunset Islands located off the west coast of Miami Beach.
“The Sunset Islands are really special because they’re guarded islands, and they’re very quiet and tranquil,” said Danny Hertzberg, a real estate agent with The Jills Zeder at Coldwell Banker Realty in Miami Beach, who shares the listing with colleague Hillary Hertzberg. “What people love about Sunset IV is that it has close proximity to Sunset Harbour, which has all the great restaurants, coffee shops and grocery stores.”
Features of the 5,810-squarefoot home include six baths, new bleached-oak flooring, a new gourmet kitchen with Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, a 1,000-square-foot primary bedroom with a seating area and spa bath, a den and a wine cellar.
Outside, there’s a pool, private dock and a 3,600-square-foot rooftop terrace complete with a summer kitchen, bar, trellis and views of the ocean to the east, Sunny Isles Beach to the north and downtown Miami to the west. The property has 60 linear feet of water frontage on a canal leading to Biscayne Bay.
“The rooftop is really unique,” Hertzberg said. “You can go directly from the rooftop down a spiral staircase to the principal suite and to the pool.”
Public records show that the property is owned by a limited liability company, which purchased it in October 2021 for
$13.45 million. Hertzberg said that the owner is selling to move to Palm Beach.
