A two-story penthouse unit in Miami Beach’s Portofino Tower that was renovated at a cost of over $3 million, has hit the market, priced at $32.5 million.

The residence, at 300 S. Pointe Drive, #4005⁄4006, consists of multiple units that were combined into an 8,400-square-foot condominium with nine bedrooms, nine full baths and two half baths.

“It’s extremely hard to find the interior square footage that this unit offers in our marketplace,” said Tracy Galya, a senior director of luxury sales with Douglas Elliman Real Estate in Miami Beach, who shares the listing with colleague Raymond Jacomo. “You have plenty of room to spread out — it’s really a mansion in the sky.”

Features of the industrial/modern unit include a private rooftop deck, two grand staircases, 18-foot ceilings, a chef ’s kitchen, an interior elevator and private sauna and steam rooms, as well as unique finishes ranging from custom bank-vaultinspired doors to a backlit honeycomb onyx wall, silver travertine floors and Mikasa wood.

Building amenities include 24-hour security, concierge service, a pool, a spa and a fitness studio. Portofino Tower has 44 floors and a total of 206 units, Galya said.

Public records show the current owner purchased the unit in May 2012 for $4.5 million. Galya said he is selling to downsize.

According to Douglas Elliman, the median sales price of a luxury condominium in the Miami Beach market rose 11 percent between the first quarter of 2021 and the first quarter of 2022, while listing inventory plunged by 30.9 percent to a new low for the third time in five quarters.
