Anchor Bank announced that Elena Hernandez joined as vice president and manager of its Coral Gables Banking Center. She was previously with Eastern National Bank where she was a vice president, branch manager.
Amerant Bank named
Howard Levine executive vice president, head of consumer banking. In early 2021, Levine joined Amerant Mortgage as executive vice president and chief revenue officer.
Gov. Ron DeSantis announced appointments to the Office of the Judges of Compensation Claims, including from South Florida, Barbara Case, who has served as president of The Law Office of Barbara Kay Case PA, since 2013.
Locality Bank has brought on David Eiler as chief banking officer; Leopoldo Tepedino, as senior vice president and director of treasury management;
Michael Welsh as vice president and commercial banker; and Brandon DeHerrera as an associate credit analyst, in Fort Lauderdale.

The Community Foundation of Broward named three new members to its board of directors. They are: Eric Vainder, senior vice president of Northern Trust and Northern Trust’s senior market executive for Broward County; Sigrid S. McCawley, managing partner at the law firm of Boies Schiller Flexner LLP in Fort Lauderdale; and Greg Medalie, partner in the law firm of Medalie & Medalie PA, Fort Lauderdale.
Lois Marino, executive director of the BBX Capital Foundation, was appointed to the board of directors for ChildNet.
Darcy J. Davis, chief executive officer of the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, was honored as one of Florida’s top 100
Women-Led Businesses, at the Commonwealth Institute Florida’s recent annual luncheon.
Government
The Broward League of Cities installed Parkland Commissioner Bob Mayersohn as its 20222023 president, as well as its executive committee and board of directors at its 65th annual Gala at the Margaritaville Beach Resort in Hollywood. Representatives from all 31 cities in Broward County voluntarily serve on the League’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors. The following officers were also appointed to the League’s Executive Committee: First Vice President — Commissioner Todd Drosky, Deerfield Beach; Second Vice President — Mayor Felicia Brunson, West Park; Secretary — Commissioner Sabrina Javellana, Hallandale Beach; and Treasurer — Commissioner Gary Resnick, Wilton Manors.

Mount Sinai Medical Center announced that Steven Hochwald was named its inaugural director of the new Irma and Norman Braman Cancer Center, in Miami Beach, set to be completed in 2025. Hochwald will also serve as chief of surgical oncology.
