Sage graduates Realtor Leadership Academy
Cecelia Sage of White Plains, a realtor at Long & Foster Real Estate, was one of 22 graduates from the Maryland Association of Realtors’ 16th annual Leadership Academy honored at ceremonies held in Annapolis recently.
The Leadership Academy was formed to help Realtors understand the important role they play in their community and the need to enhance the leadership skills, knowledge and competencies, according to a Maryland Association of Realtors press release.
The Southern Maryland Association of Realtors, one of sixteen local Realtor boards and associations in Maryland, is an advocate of this program.
The Leadership Academy has a curriculum designed to develop skills in leadership, communications, strategic planning, legislative and government affairs, and community involvement. Classes are conducted over seven months and stress the value of professional and personal commitment to business as well as charitable and civic endeavors, the press release said.
Steve Brown, the 2014 president of the National Association of Realtors, addressed the graduates and guests. Brown said “… that the greatest sign of leadership that one can achieve is to gather a group of people together to achieve one common goal.”
Realtors Property Recourse and the Realtors Federal Credit Union sponsored the 2015-16 MAR Leadership Academy.
