Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission will be accepting entries through May 25 for Southern Maryland Invitational Livestock Expo (SMILE) to be held June 24-26 at St. Mary’s Fairgrounds, 42455 Fairgrounds Road, Leonardtown. Charles County Arts Alliance (CCAA) will hold a Special Call for Artists through June 1. CCAA is now accepting submissions for a Special Summer Art Show, a multi-media public exhibit, to be held July 13-Sept. 26 at the Charles County Government Building, 200 Baltimore St., La Plata. The theme is “Artists
Without Limits” and will recognize local artists with disabilities. Local artists with disabilities are invited to submit a maximum of two works of art on any subject to CCAA for consideration. Southern Maryland Mission of Mercy needs volunteers for their dental clinic to be held 6 a.m.-4 p.m. July 29-30 at North Point High School, 2500 Davis Road, Waldorf. Mission of Mercy is a free adult dental clinic provided by volunteer dental professionals and volunteer staff. Volunteer dental professionals (dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants) are needed. Volunteers also needed in areas of security, parking, volunteer and patient registration, meals, escorting patients throughout the clinic and more.
