Phyllis Joan Jeneski, 71, of Bryans Road, MD, passed away on May 15, 2016 in Bryans Road, MD. Arrangemen­ts by Arehart-Echols Funeral Home.

Annie Cecelia Smothers, 91 of Newburg, Maryland died May 14, 2016.

The youngest and last sole survivor of 10 siblings, Annie was born November 6, 1924 in Faulkner, Maryland to the late William Dyson and Mary Green Hawkins.

In 1946, Annie moved to Rock Point, Maryland. It was there she met the love of her life, John Smothers. In August 1948, Annie and John married. Out of that ANNIE CECELIA union came 15 children. SMOTHERS

She is survived by her daughters, Gladys Smothers, Cecelia Clark (James), Jean Jones, Regina Clark, Doris Smothers, Margaret Bumbry, Alice Smothers, Gloria Minor, Georgia Smothers, and Cynthia Smothers; her sons, John Wade, Jr. (Louise), and Wayne and Ernest Smothers; her sister-in-laws, Gertrude Hanna, Helena Gooseberry, and Dorothy King; 31 grandchild­ren, 58 great-grandchild­ren, 13 great-great-grandchild­ren; and a plethora of nieces and nephews.

The next 23 years, she worked as head cook at Thunderbir­d Motel and several local restaurant­s and in the 1970’s, she did domestic work for several homes from Cobb Island to Mechanicsv­ille to La Plata, Maryland until she accepted the offer and took on a new line of work — home healthcare. She was also employed by Charles County Nursing Home where she retired in 1977.

She received special recognitio­n for her written contributi­on to the Pathways to History, a book that depicts 350 years of Charles County’s histor y.

Her hobbies include traveling, sewing, ceramics, cooking, canning, jigsaw and word-find puzzles, watching court and game shows, Walker Texas Ranger, and NCIS. She also enjoyed line dancing.

Friends received on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 10AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 12PM at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Issue, Maryland. Interment in the church cemetery.

Bernard Winchester, III was born on March 24, 1982, in Washington, D.C., to Myra Logan and Bernard Winchester, II.

Bernard attended Northweste­rn and Largo High School where he met his future wife, Karen Adams. Bernard and Karen were married on December 5, 2003 and lived a happy life together. Suddenly, on Saturday, May 14, 2016 while in the University of Maryland, BERNARD Charles Regional Medical Center, La Plata, WINCHESTER, III MD, both of their lives would be forever changed. Bernard transition­ed to eternal life and Karen was left without her husband and best friend.

Bernard was an employee of the Charles County Government and worked as an Equipment Operator. Prior to the job with Charles County Government, he had his CDL and was a Truck Driver. Anyone who knew Bernard was sure to hear about his devotion to the Washington Redskins. He was a true FAN! He also enjoyed watching wrestling.

Bernard enjoyed cooking for his family. He loved being in the kitchen but was equally content outside hosting a bar-b-que. His family was important to him and he enjoyed the times when everyone would come together.

Bernard was very proud of his landscapin­g but not more than graduating and getting his Associates Degree in Business Administra­tion.

Bernard was loving, caring, helpful and courageous. He was always willing to help others and maintained a happy dispositio­n for which he will always be remembered.

Preceding him in death was his grandfathe­r, Harold Logan, whom he had a very close relationsh­ip.

In addition to his loving wife, Karen, also left to cherish his memory is his mother, Myra Logan, father, Bernard Winchester, II, brothers; Keith Alan Hinson “KJ,” Jovan Winchester, and Darius Winchester, grandparen­ts; Myrtle Logan, Alice Logan, and Mary Phillips, mother-in-law, Wanda Adams, father-inLaw, Joseph Adams, sister-in-law, Kimbalee Adams, aunts; Harolyn Stokes, Charlotte Winchester, and Stephanie Winchester, uncle, Barney Stokes, Sr., niece, Skyler Adams, close cousins; Jamie Adams, Andre McCann, Lia Stokes, and Barney Stokes, Jr. “BJ” and longtime family friend, Keith Hinson and a host of other relatives and friends.

His viewing will be held 10am until Mass of Christian Burial, 11am on Monday, May 23, 2016, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 4590 St. Joseph’s Way, Pomfret, MD 20675. Interment Church Cemetery.
