84 Lumber launches ‘Operation Appreciati­on’

84 Lumber, a privately held building materials and services supplier, is continuing its support of the U.S. military with the launch of “Operation Appreciati­on.” Throughout May, which is National Militar y Appreciati­on Month, 84 Lumber is initiating special programs and activities dedicated to the recognitio­n of military service members, including a Facebook contest, combat wounded preferred parking spaces, store discounts and continued support of Homes for Our Troops.

Now through May 27, 84 Lumber is giving away $8,400 per week in store credit to three deserving military families or service members.

In addition, the company is profiling several of its own veteran employees on its Facebook page.

At each of its more than 250 store locations, 84 Lumber is recognizin­g injured veterans through the installati­on of combat wounded parking signs and spaces. The preferred parking spots are in honor of the Wounded Warriors Family Support program.

For the month of May, the company has increased its normal 10 percent military discount to 15 percent.

The lumber supplier has stores in White Plains, Mechanicsv­ille and Lexington Park.
