The following items were compiled from reports from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office and court records.
Four arrested for PCP distribution
On June 2 around 9:13 a.m., officers of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the boating ramp on Marshall Hall Road and made contact with four occupants of an SUV parked in the grass, facing the water. Upon approaching the vehicle, a deputy observed a passenger with a bag of suspected marijuana hanging out of his bandana, court records indicate.
Upon searching the suspects and vehicle, police recovered approximately five ounces of PCP, a small amount of cocaine and marijuana, charging documents state. Courtney Shawannda Tibbs, 25, of Indian Head, Jonathan Adriel Jones, 35, of Washington D.C., Jerome Leon Martin, Jr., 35, of White Plains, and Breanna Michelle Randell, 26, of Newburg were all arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent of distribution. Police estimated the street value of the PCP around $5,000.
Woman arrested, charged with first–degree assault
On June 1, officers of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2700 block of Grindall Court in Waldorf for the a report of a domestic assault in progress. Upon arrival, a deputy observed a woman, later identified as Antonee Marlena Ruffin–El, run upstairs and allegedly retrieve a kitchen knife, court records indicate. Knife in-hand, she reportedly screamed that she was going to kill another woman in the home and ignored numerous commands to drop the knife. The officer drew his gun and held it at the low–ready position, warning that he would shoot her if she did not drop the knife, charging documents state. Ruffin–El then complied and was arrested.
The female victim told officers that just before they arrived, she had been fighting with Ruffin–El after she hit her in the face with a set of keys, charging documents state. Ruffin–El, 20, of Waldorf was charged with first-degree assault and possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure.
Items stolen from vehicle, car window smashed
Sometime between 11 p.m. June 4 and 9 a.m. June 5, someone, entered an unlocked vehicle in the area of Garner Avenue in Waldorf and stole a laptop.
Between 8 p.m. June 4 and 12:30 p.m. June 5, someone smashed a rear window of a vehicle located in the 900 block of Waddell Road in Waldorf. No property was removed from the vehicle. Investigators are looking into the possibility the same person was responsible for both incidents. Officers G. Cook and D. Spence are investigating.
Items stolen from vehicle
On June 5 at 8:36 a.m., officers responded to the 6700 block of Partition Place in Bryantown for the report of a theft from a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers interviewed the victim who stated that she had arrived to the residence for a party on the evening of June 4. When she left on the morning of June 5, she discovered that her front windshield and right front passenger window had been smashed. The victim’s purse, as well as the contents of her friend’s wallet, had been stolen. Officer S. Hooper is investigating.
Juvenile arrested, allegedly stole items from vehicles
On June 4 at approximately 2:49 a.m., a resident of a home on Mooncoin Circle in Waldorf heard a car door shut outside of his window and observed a subject walking away from his sister’s vehicle. The victim confirmed that a tablet and cash had been stolen from her car, and she and her father observed the suspect walking on University Drive. Officers responded and canvassed the area. At 3:49 a.m., a person matching the description of the suspect was located in the area of Jefferson Road. The suspect, a 17–year– old Waldorf juvenile, was positively identified by the victim. Further investigation led to the recovery of the stolen tablet in the suspect’s house. The suspect may be connected to other thefts from autos in the area. Officer J. Brown is continuing the investigation.
Tires and rims stolen
Sometime between the hours of 11 p.m. June 2 and 7:15 a.m. June 3, someone stole the rims and tires from a Dodge Challenger which was in a parking lot in the 11600 block of Lewisham Place in Waldorf. Officer B. Rash is investigating.
On May 28, officers were notified of several thefts from motor vehicles, which had taken place during the very early morning hours in the Sheffield neighborhood, located off of St. Charles Parkway in Waldorf. There were multiple victims. Officer J. Bottorf is investigating.
Police investigate attempted commercial burglary
On May 27 at 3:49 a.m., officers responded to a business located in the 1100 block of Smallwood Drive in Waldorf for the report of an intrusion alarm. Upon arrival, officers discovered two glass doors had been shattered and attempted to be forced in; however, entry was unsuccessful. Officer A. Bringley is investigating.
