Golf tournament

The Southern Maryland Amateur Invitational Golf Tournament will be held June 17 to 19 at Breton Bay Golf and Country Club in Leonardtown.

The tournament, which is open to male amateur golfers, is a 54- hole stroke play event with four divisions: overall championship division, senior division (must have reached 55th birthday by June 17), super senior division (must have reached super senior division by June 17) and junior division (for golfers 18 and younger).

The cost is $80 for juniors, $160 for Breton Bay members and $200 for all others. Practice rounds, which cost $35, are available all day June 9 and after 2 p.m. June 11 and 12. Call the pro shop at 301-475-2300 to make a tee time.

Southern Maryland Men’s Senior Baseball League

The Southern Maryland Men’s Senior Baseball League is looking for new teams, players and umpires who would like to join its organization that has been serving community for 24 years.

Games will begin around mid-June and continue until mid-October at one or two per week planned for Friday evenings, Saturdays or Sundays. They are played in the Charles County area with plans for games also in St. Mary’s and Calvert counties as new teams and players sign up.

Teams have won many age divisions at local, regional and national tournaments competing against representing states in the United States, Puerto Rico and Venezuela.

Base Brawl 2016

MCW Pro Wrestling and the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs will host Base Brawl 2016, featuring WWE legends Ron Simmons, Billy Gunn and X-Pac, on June 18 at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf.
