Fraternity awards Donald M. Wade Memorial Scholarships
Sigma Alpha Lambda Foundation, Inc., of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., in conjunction with Sigma Alpha Lambda Chapter, announced its 2016 Donald M. Wade Memorial Scholarship recipients.

The Donald Wade Memorial Scholarship was formed as a means to honor the former Charles County Board of Education member and continue his passion for providing children with a quality education and support of early childhood education. Wade was essential in the implementation of the Junior ROTC in Charles County Public Schools and instilled his core belief is that all children deserve a sound and equitable public education.
Sigma Alpha Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. created the Sigma Alpha Lambda Foundation, Inc. in February 2012. The foundation’s primary mission is to serve as an educational and charitable organization by providing scholarships and mentoring opportunities to students in the Southern Maryland area.
To date, the foundation has awarded over $17K to 19 young men as well as mentoring over 80 youth ranging from grades 6-12. For more information about the scholarship and foundation, go to www.sal1906foundation.org.
