Thank you for supporting Day of Caring

-

I would like to take the time to thank all the volunteers, community members and organizations that came out to support the United Way of Charles County’s Annual Day of Caring. I would especially like to thank Executive Director Mike Bellis, Dayle Hayden and our entire board of directors for their support leading up to and during the event.

The United Way of Charles County’s mission is to provide support to local nonprofits, “To Give, To Advocate and To Volunteer.” The time and effort given by so many on our Day of Caring shows the unwavering support our community has for one another. The board of directors consists of members of the community from various walks of life and their constant commitment to service to our community was reflected in the overall participation in the Day of Caring. The personal stories that were portrayed in the article in the Maryland Independent’s Sept. 7 edition shows the true character of our community.

On behalf of the many nonprofit organizations that were supported during the event and the entire United Way of Charles County Board of Directors, I would like to thank everyone for their support. Please take the time to learn more about our local nonprofits and the incredible ser vices they provide for our community. Gilbert “BJ” Bowling, Dentsville The writer is the chairman of the United Way of Charles County.
