Get Connected: Charles County Government Television

-

Video and photography bring a unique visual appeal to community outreach. Using modern technology, Charles County Government Television (CCGTV), your local government cable source, gives snapshots of how your county government is working for you. The information CCGTV provides daily is another way we are working to make government more open and accessible.

County commissioner meetings, and meetings of commissioner-appointed boards, committees and commissions, are broadcast on CCGTV, which airs on Verizon channel 10 and Comcast channel 95. You can view live CCGTV broadcasts on your television or via live stream on any computer or mobile device. Past meetings are also rebroadcast on the station.

If you are on-the-go or at work and miss a meeting when it airs, CCGTV maintains an online digital library so you can watch at your convenience. Meetings and original programming are archived in the digital library. There are options to watch video, listen to audio only and view commissioner meeting agendas. Whether you are interested in the county commissioners, Board of Appeals, animal control or the liquor board, your CCGTV station will keep you up to date.

Video KWIQ is another handy tool CCGTV offers. If you forget the date of a specific commissioner meeting or need to search for a particular topic, the Video KWIQ tool can help. This tool allows you to search for any word spoken in a captioned commissioner meeting. Video KWIQ allows you to search several prior years of archived meetings, which is helpful for research or background information.

With eight departments and an active Board of County Commissioners, your county government is constantly buzzing with new events, programs and initiatives. CCGTV plays an important role in bringing Charles County Government events, services and programs to residents. CCGTV bulletin board ads, videos, original programming and commercials are available on the county’s YouTube channel, Facebook and on Twitter. You can visit any of these social media sites for more ways to learn about county news and events.

A full-service cable access station, CCGTV is more than just television. CCGTV staff document county events and meetings using still photography. Photos are published in the Charles County Government online photo gallery. The gallery is accessed easily from any web browser. Relive moments from events such as the Celebrate Charles FallFest, the Economic Development Fall Meeting and the popular annual Shred Event featuring rain barrel and composting workshops. Photos are available to view and download at no cost, and are uploaded on social media to Facebook and Twitter.
