Sunday, Oct. 23 FOP Lou Cannon

will provide the latest DC FOP off-duty guidance to sworn law enforcemen­t officers, firefighte­rs and EMTs to assist them in today’s environmen­t. Also, Cannon will brief on LEOSA to retired LEOs. The event is hosted by the Statim Angeli Society a police/fire/EMT group concerned about the well-being of first responders and will be at 1:45 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Activity Center, 4590 St. Joseph Way, Pomfret. This free briefing is open to all credential­ed active and retired first responders. Questions should be directed to Edward Holland at 301-848-3476.

Monday, Oct. 24 Charles County Commission­er Amanda Stewart (D)

will host an October town hall meeting 6:30 p.m. at Waldorf West Library, 10405 O’Donnell Place, Waldorf.

The Charles County Historic Preservati­on Commission

will meet 6 p.m. at the Port Tobacco Courthouse to discuss the plan to demolish the historic home of John Grinder by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. Tuesday, Oct. 25 The La Plata Town Council

will meet 7 p.m. at town hall, 305 Queen Anne St., La Plata.
