The lesser of two sinners

- Chester Seaborn, Mechanicsville

The presidential debates are history. Now one wonders what percentage of Americans are yet to make up their minds as to which of the twain is best suited to serve this nation as president. Between parties, there’s about as much contrast on issues as there is in comparing day and night.

Our next president immediately faces numerous matters of utmost importance essentially equal in priority. However, nothing trumps national security and the crushing of ISIS here and abroad. Yet, all needs are manageable and one truly qualified to serve can successfully multitask.

One candidate wants a militarily stronger nation with a smaller, more efficient government, yet one fully capable of responding to the myriad needs of the people in the most cost effective and timely manner. All the while bringing jobs back home. The other espouses differing priorities.

Of late, media has been resolutely affixed on the unseemly and base verbiage uttered by candidate Donald Trump, in concert with now associated decades old accusations. Meanwhile, they pooh- pooh away and otherwise obscure candidate Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified material and reportedly disposing of thousands of emails, some possibly unsecured. Then, there’s the Benghazi failure — and the willful destruction of cell phones, government property, to limit further information flow. Now, there are fresh WikiLeaks disclosures hitting the streets, most of which will be artfully disclosed or otherwise cleverly qualified.

Therefore, albeit diverse in practice and measure, bottom line is, two brazen sinners — a conservative and a liberal — are vying for your vote. We can effect change with sinner Trump, and likely net a really huge one, or we can maintain status quo with sinner Hillary, as America undergoes further “fundamental transformation” under duress.

With a sinner Hillary presidency, collectively, we exclaim, man, we’ve evolved, do more of the same. And we’ll get it with more from the anti- God, anti- Christ, Constitution ignoring, racially divisive, economy plundering, energy independence denying, inner city neglecting, law enforcement decrying, Israel snubbing, ally bewildering, enemy animating, open borders- sanctuary city supporting, national debt compounding, millennial deceiving, military diminishing, gender perplexing, Mother Earth worshipping liberal Democrat party politicos. And if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor, as healthcare costs go down.

For this sinner, the choice is simple. No further “fundamental transformation” of this country. Rather, let’s seek to undo wherever possible, terminate shock to this nation, correct mistakes and work together to make America great again. Thus, I’ll gladly cast my lot with sinner Trump as the candidate far and away best qualified to serve this one nation, under God.
